He was used to generate both F1 and backcross progeny. The Hf genotype of females cannot be inferred by their phenotype because henny feathering is a male-limited trait. But their genotype can be inferred based on pedigree data. Therefore, female 544 and 81 are Hf/hf+ and all other females should be hf+/hf+
