Coverage of LTR-retrotransposons in the analyzed genomes. The coverage is the percentage of the genome that is covered by LTR-retrotransposons. LTR-retrotransposons comprise more than 60% of Zea mays and Hordeum vulgare genomes. We note that these values are likely underestimates of the true values due to the difficulty in completely annotating every LTR-retrotransposon, of which there may be many extremely divergent elements
